Pinewood Cars will be handed out at the November
pack meeting. Each scout receives his car as part of the dues paid.
Additional cars are available for $5.00 per car.
Only Authorized BSA pinewood car bodies may be used; add-on’s from the BSA catalog are approved as well. Building the car can be as easy or as difficult as you like it to be. There are pages and pages and pages and… of links with ideas, plans, paint jobs, etc. Be creative, have fun and spend some time with your dad (or mom!). Siblings and parents (and other non-scout persons) may race in the open class event. Race Day Race day is an awesome experience and we recommend you invite grandparents, friends and anyone that likes fun! There are door prize drawings, T-shirts for “Viewer’s Choice Awards” and lots and lots of racing fun. Racing is held by rank (Tigers vs. Tigers) and the top two winners from each rank move onto the District Championships in May 2010 (location, date, time TBA). There is a grand prize race (for trophies) amongst the top winners per rank. We also have pizza, snacks and drinks for those hungry race fans and a movie room for those exhausted race fans! |

One Reminder... The Pinewood Derby is a competition of the scouts, and the cars should be built as much as possible by the scouts themselves. Depending on their level (Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos) there is quite a bit of work the scouts can do. If you, as a parent, want to build your own car and compete, we offer the “Open Class” series for all non-scouting competitors (siblings, parents and friends). Official Rules |
